Teachers - Elementary Music/Junior High Band

Biography

My love of music began at the age of 4 when I started playing piano.  I continued to study piano for many years and eventually earned my Grade 9 piano and theory equivalents from the Royal Conservatory of Music with First Class Honors.  As a junior high and high school student I was a member of the school concert and jazz bands where I played the flute, percussion, and piano.  I was also a member of the high school choir and often served as their accompanist.  After high school, I continued my musical education at Augustana University College and then the University of Alberta, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Education (Distinction) in Elementary School Music.  Since then, I have been a substitute teacher for both Aspen View and Pembina Hills and have spent the past two years as the Dapp Community Preschool teacher.  I have also taught private piano and theory lessons for many years and am presently the accompanist for a local children's choir.  I am looking forward to being a part of Pembina North Community School and sharing my love of music with my students!
